In 2001 Paradigm Norton was formed with a clear purpose – “to deliver financial peace of mind and help our clients prepare for an uncertain future”.
Our focus and pre-occupation from day one has been to deliver an unparalleled level of client service. With Paradigm Norton’s clients being located along the M4 corridor, from Cornwall to London, we always aspired to build a London office with a firm who shared our passion for client service, but until early 2017 we never quite found the right ‘merger partner’.
In January 2017, Barry and Ruth began to discuss a possible ‘coming together’ for the benefit of all clients and the wider teams. It was soon recognised that both firms shared the same philosophy, culture, client focus and a deep desire to make a difference in the lives of their clients.
We are thrilled to announce the merger of two of the UK’s leading and most well respected financial planning businesses. This merger is great news for both our clients and our respective teams, bringing greater strength, depth and continuity to the merged business.
We are excited by this merger and what it means for both firms, their clients and the wider teams. We live in an age of increasing complexity so to have subject experts across the gamut of taxation, retirement planning, cash flow modelling, investments, estate planning and philanthropy makes complete sense.
“We are absolutely thrilled to be merging with The Red House, a firm we have watched for a number of years, who share our values, passion and commitment to delivering an excellent client experience.”Barry Horner, Chief Executive Officer of Paradigm Norton
& The Red House
It was really good fun working on the ‘merger video’ together, and although we had been talking for months, as Barry and I spoke out loud in front of the film crew the inevitability of our merger seemed so obvious. In addition to our mutual desire to provide a great client experience, we both share the same investment philosophy and process, we operate the same fee structure and both firms have a real desire to recruit and build the best possible financial planning team across the entire business.
Prior to Barry and I starting to talk, Linda and I had increasingly recognised that we needed to develop a robust succession plan. The merger with Paradigm Norton achieves this allowing all of the team to work to their strengths and for Linda and I to focus on the parts of the business that best suit our skills, ability and passion.
Over the last 12 months we have become increasingly convinced that a merger is the right next step for the Red House, our clients and our team.
“We are delighted to be joining forces with Paradigm Norton, a firm we have known and admired for nearly ten years. This merger is great news for both our clients and our team, bringing greater strength, depth and continuity to our offering. The integration of our teams, each of whom have an excellent track record of delivering innovative financial planning solutions, gives our mutual clients a range of additional resources, expertise and life skills.”Ruth Sturkey, Founder and Managing Director of The Red House
Paradigm Norton and The Red House officially and legally became one firm on Thursday 14th December. The official ‘signing’ lasted no more than an hour but it represented so much more. It was the culmination of hundreds of hours of hard work on both sides throughout 2017.
We are excited for the new year and the opportunities that an enlarged business with more capacity brings. We are already working on our 2020 plan!
We would like to take this opportunity to wish the clients of our new merged business a happy, healthy & prosperous 2018.
